Mid-Western Region Teens Make a Difference: Packing Meals for Those in Need

During the 69th annual Jack and Jill of America Inc., Mid-Western Region Teen Leadership Conference (TLC) held at The Ohio State University, hundreds of teens from eight Midwestern states came together to make a significant impact. We joined hands to support feeding children in need by packing over 100,000 meals.

In collaboration with the non-profit organization Feeding America’s Children, our teens worked tirelessly in groups to help measure ingredients, carefully fill containers, and pack nutritious meals destined to reach starving children. This act of kindness and excitement to serve and help others demonstrates what our youth can accomplish when they unite for a common cause.

Carlos Dillard, the Regional Teen Foundation Chair, expressed his enthusiasm and commitment to helping others, especially children facing adversity. “It’s very special to me, to see how [this service event] started from a zoom call to see it really executed, and hundreds of people helping out. It was very important to me,” shared Dillard, a member of the South Suburban Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc.

Dillard’s words reflect the ethos of empathy and generosity that drives these our Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Mid-Western Region teens and mothers. Our willingness to take action and make a difference is inspiring. By leveraging our collective efforts, we are not only addressing immediate hunger but also sowing seeds of hope and solidarity within our communities.
